Reflections on Wellness
Artist: Cath Cantlon
An installation wall of mirrored thoughts on wellbeing
Cath offered staff and clients of the Southern Fleurieu Health Service (SFHS) and a Kangaroo Island Carers support group the chance to reflect on what wellness means to them. Participants were assisted to explore words and images that represent wellbeing and craft them into a design. The designs were then etched onto a perspex mirror.
The carers group supports parents of children who are coping with a variety of disabilities and or mental health issues. A facilitator from the mental health team was present at the sessions enabling Cath to concentrate on assisting the group with their designs while a facilitator helped the discussion to flow smoothly.
The finished reflections will be displayed in the new SFHS facility at Victor Harbor, creating a collective look at personal wellness.
