Artists:  Emily Steel  l  Mike Tye

Stories delivered to residents of Alexandrina Council region

Writer Emily Steel  worked with the local Sand Writers group and Alexandrina Centre for Positive Ageing and other home based services to collect older people’s reminiscences and develop them into stories.

A total of 84 stories were collected from 39 writers and 5 senior citizens organisations in the Alexandrina Council region.

Artist Mike Tye was then engaged to design the artwork for printed envelopes and stamps.  The stories were folded into the envelopes and delivered to socially isolated residents of the region.

Partner Outcomes :

  • Client engagement through shared stories
  • Reduced sense of social isolation
  • Positive service delivery experience for clients
