We Are The World
During the research & development undertaken in Mt Gambier, South Australia in 2015 POST developed an interview structure that begins by asking the interviewee how they see the world, and expands to include ideas of movement, travel, migration, colonization and privilege. They also collaborated with technologists Grumpy Sailor to develop an interview database (prototype version). This database allows POST to store recorded conversations they have with local artists and the general public, and categorises the transcribed interviews with keywords and #tags. These keywords will be the tools through which the eventual audience will navigate the performance content.
POST worked with SANDPIT and Steve Mayhew throughout Stage 1 to seamlessly integrate these technologies into the theatrical experience. ‘We Are the World’ will examine how technology functions, how it structures our life .
You will notice a change of title as well. “We Are The World” is more 1980’s, more fun and more cynical.
Here is a video of POST explaining the project at the point of the creative development undertaken in Mt Gambier, South Australia in 2015.
